Introducing the Michigan Sport Sustainability Initiative

Sustainability is a defining priority shaping the future of the sport industry. The field is expanding rapidly, and the need for professionals who can lead this evolution has never been greater.

That’s why I am proud to announce the official launch of the Michigan Sport Sustainability Initiative (MSSI) at the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology!

MSSI exists to give U-M students a dedicated space to learn about sport sustainability and gain real-world experience in the field. Our mission is to educate, connect, and equip students with the operational and analytical skills needed to drive holistic sustainability across environmental stewardship, economic viability, and cultural preservation within the global sport industry.

We are excited to grow the organization into a resource for students interested in sport business, whether it means connecting with professionals working in the space, developing practical skills, or simply learning more about the future of sustainability in sport.

A sincere thank you to our advisor, Dr. Brian McCullough, Professor Kelli Donahue, our executive board, and our inaugural members for joining me to make our launch possible. MSSI exists because of your support and belief in what we are building.

If you are a University of Michigan student interested in getting involved, please fill out our interest form (https://lnkd.in/e5KsqXCP) to stay updated and get early access to upcoming opportunities.
